Next Generation® Design Competition

The Metropolis Next Generation® Design Competition was created in 2003 to promote environmental activism, social involvement, and entrepreneurship in young designers. Metropolis saw the need for a new type of competition, one that went beyond the usual beauty pageants for finished projects, a competition that would generate and reward ideas. Metropolis celebrates the next generation by rewarding imaginative young designers, be they employed by large companies, those striving with their own young firms or on their own, as well as students.

2013 Law & Social Inquiry (Graduate Student Paper Competition)

Description:
Each year, Law & Social Inquiry invites submissions from graduate and law students for its Graduate Student Paper Competition.  The GSPC offers students within the field of sociolegal studies a great opportunity to showcase their journal-length work to an expanded audience. The winning paper is  published in Law & Social Inquiry, and the winner receives special recognition from LSI at the Annual Meeting of the Law and Society Association. Winners are also honored with  a $500 cash prize for their achievement.

VDA Award 2013

As the organizers want to promote rather than restrict creativity, no topic is specified for those
participating in the VDA Design Award competition. The only condition in terms of topic is that the works must stem from the area of passenger transport or commercial vehicles. All final-year projects completed at a design school between October 2011 and July 2013 can be submitted.

The objective of this contest is to showcase Windows Phone 8 as a great platform for developing cool apps. 

For purposes of this Contest, each complete Windows Phone app you have published and available for Windows Phone 8 users as of 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) on March 5th will be called an "entry".  Apps will be judged based on the criteria below and the top 64 winners will be placed in a head to head tournament style voting challenge to determine the ultimate champion of the Contest.
