Description:
This global, incentivized competition will inspire breakthrough genome sequencing innovations and technologies with the potential to create a new era of personalized medicine. $10 million will be awarded to the first team to rapidly, accurately and economically sequence 100 whole human genomes to an unprecedented level of accuracy.
The 100 human genomes to be sequenced in this competition will be donated by 100 centenarians (ages 100 or older) from all over the world, known as there 100 Over 100. Sequencing the genomes of the 100 Over 100 presents a unique opportunity to identify those "rare genes" that protect against disease, while giving researchers valuable clues to health and longevity.

The Best Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Competition is an initiative of Philips Group of Companies Malaysia and National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to encourage and reward innovative awareness programs for breast cancer screening in Malaysia.
Any project/campaign/program/initiative that has been submitted to the Best Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Competition will be screened and winning submission will be awarded a total sum of RM40,000 to carry out and implement the proposed Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Programme.

THE INAUGURAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS MEDICAL STUDENTS SURGICAL SKILLS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION

Description:

This year, the CSAMM is introducing a surgical skills competition among medical students from the medical schools in Malaysia in conjunction with its Annual Scientific Meeting in June 2013. This nationwide competition will give aspiring surgeons in their senior years of medical studies an opportunity to learn and compete in a range of surgical challenges, from suturing and knot-tying to performing some common procedures expected of a newly graduated resident doctor.
