Freescale Cup 2013

Description:
Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Freescale) are organizing Freescale Cup Intelligent Car Competition 2013. The Freescale Cup is a global competition where student teams build, program, and race a model car around a track for speed.
Each universities/colleges may have up to 3 racing teams. Freescale will sponsor the car kit for the 1st team from each universities, subject to the approval from the Organizing Committee.  Penalty may be imposed if the team failed to participate in the competition after receiving the car kit.  For the 2nd and 3rd team, registration fee will be RM500 per team.  Registration deadline is 31 May 2013.

The Toradex Challenge is a global design challenge for students and enthusiasts with a background in Research & Education.
Submit your proposal and get a free Toradex Colibri NVIDIA® Tegra™ Kit worth 250 USD to realize your project.

Our target are students and enthusiasts associated with educational/research institutions.
The competition is global and open to anyone regardless of their place of residence.
The competition is being run in English and the entry must be in English to be accepted.
Participants may participate individually or may form teams. However, Participants cannot participate in more than one team.

Prize:
The selected winner of the Semi-annual contest will receive a prize of 20’000 USD.
The runner-up will receive a prize of 10’000 USD.
Four selected honourable mentions will receive a prize of 5’000 USD each.
The award ceremony will be held after the final evaluation.

DESIGN THEME:
Innovative Conceptual Product Design: Motorcycle Security Locking System.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To promote creative and innovative conceptual product design.
2. To unleash innovative proof of concept prototype by leveraging on Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
3. To promote innovation in 3D design using SolidWorks in institutes of higher learning (IHL).
4. To demonstrate SolidWorks as an effective design-centric 3D CADtoolforsolidmodelling and assemblies.
5. To discover design and modelling talents and unleash creativity among the undergraduates.
6. To establish networking and learning community among SolidWorksusers.
