SKAED Universal Design Unit (KUDU) IIUM and Department of Standards Malaysia (STANDARDS MALAYSIA) is organizing a half day Product Design Workshop on Universal Design Product Competition (UDPC 2013). In conjunction with this event, a competition on Universal Design Product Competition 2013 (UDPC 2013) for all is being held to expose the community about the products design related to transportation services in Malaysia and its implication on the daily life of its users, especially the disable, children and the aged.
The competition is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and in collaboration with Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia (Malaysia Design Council).

INTERNATIONAL BICYCLE DESIGN COMPETITION 2014
Description:
The International Bicycle Design Competition, the IBDC 2014, will take place for the 18th time. Students in all types of study programs in the field of design are welcome to take part. The competition is calling for innovative, visionary concepts that make cycling even more comfortable, safer, more challenging, more enjoyable or simply more popular. New manufacturing processes and materials or thought-provoking impulses for urban planners are also welcome. Taking part in this competition is free of charge. EUR 21,500 in prize monies will be distributed among the most outstanding entries.

Innovate Malaysia Design Competition is a multi-discipline engineering design competition open to all final year undergraduate engineering or computer science students in Malaysia. The goal of the contest is to promote innovation culture and mindsets among university graduates, to enhance knowledge and skill set in practical engineering and promote greater interest in engineering design, and to promote more industry and university collaboration. SME’s Innovate (Doing Well by Doing Good)
Description:
The SME’s Innovate (Doing Well by Doing Good) is the national competition for the Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises’ entrepreneurs/companies. It is designed to elicit ideas, create innovative designs and products that are low-cost, affordable, acceptable, accessible and sustainable, and which can then be exploited and commercialised for the benefits of the grassroots such as under-privileged women, youths, disabled and the poor identified as Bottom of Pyramid (BoP). The competition is based on open innovation concept and applicants can choose from a plethora of projects/products covering technological innovation; business process innovation; workflow innovation; delivery system innovation; research process innovation and grassroots innovation.

It is designed to elicit ideas, create innovative designs and products that are low-cost, affordable, acceptable, accessible and sustainable, and which can then be exploited and commercialised for the benefits of the grassroots such as under-privileged women, youths, disabled and the poor identified as Bottom of Pyramid (BoP). The competition is based on open innovation concept and applicants can choose from a plethora of projects/products covering technological innovation; business process innovation; workflow innovation; delivery system innovation; research process innovation and grassroots innovation.

Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2013
Description:
Each year, ILAM presented the outstanding Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards to Malaysian landscape architecture practices and related fields. The awards are open to all project submissions, which have not won any previous ILAM MLAA Awards.
The award recipients receive featured coverage in ILAM’s Bulletin Landskap and a special publication in conjunction with the award - Landscape Architecture Malaysia Yearbook and a Special Edition in the local press following the award ceremony. Award recipients will be honoured at the Awards Presentation Ceremony during ILAM’s Annual Dinner, scheduled in April each year. The Awards are also part of the activities held in conjunction with the World Landscape Architecture Month Celebrations.

Bristol would like to share its expertise in the office furniture manufacturing industry by organizing a student design competition to provide an opportunity for students studying in institutions and universities in Malaysia to showcase their talent in the design field.
Two categories are open for this competition:- furniture design & interior design.
In collaboration with the Malaysian Design Council (Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia, MRM), our panel of judges for this competition consists of industry experts from the furniture and interior design industry in Malaysia.

The Tetra Pak Eco Design - Design for Good

An eco design competition to ignite and accelerate design-driven environmental and social change.
Last year, we identified good designs.
This year we’re seeking not just good designs but designs that do good for the planet and people in need.
The DESIGN FOR GOOD Eco Design Competition 2013 challenges designers to use their creative influence in creating upcycled products made from used beverage cartons that is commercially viable and functional. The winning design is then donated to our selected beneficiary, Beautiful Gate Foundation For The Disabled, for commercialisation as an alternative fundraising tool.

Freescale Cup 2013
Description:
Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Freescale) are organizing Freescale Cup Intelligent Car Competition 2013. The Freescale Cup is a global competition where student teams build, program, and race a model car around a track for speed.
Each universities/colleges may have up to 3 racing teams. Freescale will sponsor the car kit for the 1st team from each universities, subject to the approval from the Organizing Committee. Penalty may be imposed if the team failed to participate in the competition after receiving the car kit. For the 2nd and 3rd team, registration fee will be RM500 per team. i-Hack Competition 2013
Description:
It is the only inter-varsity hacking competition held in Malaysia which is organized by UiTM and co-organized by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and SCAN Associates Berhad. This event is highly regarded among hacking and security community. I-Hack is a good platform to showcase hacking skills among varsity students. Not only that, it also gathers computer security experts to exchange ideas and solutions via seminars, workshops and exhibitions held during the competition. Moreover, it also acts as an eye opener for Malaysians generally and for the students specifically on the awareness towards cyber-crime and how to secure their machine. Remember, it is not all about hacking; it's about how secure your machine is.

National Design Challenge 2013
Description:
Pertandingan pada tahun ini mencabar kreativiti peserta pertandingan untuk mencadangkan dan menterjemahkan idea rekabentuk yang menjurus kepada penyelesaian masalah yang dihadapi oleh Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam dan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT). Peserta adalah bebas untuk menghasilkan idea rekabentuk yang merangkumi semua aspekpermasalahan yang dihadapi oleh Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam dan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) dalammelaksanakan tugasan harian mereka. Idea rekabentuk yang dicadangkan perlulah mengambilkira beberapa strategi dan transformasi modus operandi, meningkatkan
produktiviti dan dayasaing sektor perkhidmatan awam dan PBT melalui inovasi rekabentuk, sains dan pemindahan teknologi. Idea yang dicadangkan mestilah memfokus kepada aspek rekabentuk perindustrian (70%) dan kejuruteraan (30%)
