Universal Design Product Competition 2013 (UDPC 2013)

Description:
SKAED Universal Design Unit (KUDU) IIUM and Department of Standards Malaysia (STANDARDS MALAYSIA) is organizing a half day Product Design Workshop on Universal Design Product Competition (UDPC 2013). In conjunction with this event, a competition on Universal Design Product Competition 2013 (UDPC 2013) for all is being held to expose the community about the products design related to transportation services in Malaysia and its implication on the daily life of its users, especially the disable, children and the aged.

The competition is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and in collaboration with Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia (Malaysia Design Council).

2013 Sarawak Open Source Competition for Mobile Applications

organized by Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. (SAINS).

Scope:

  1. Participants are required to develop a mobile application using open source technology. The mobile application shall run on either iOS or Android only.
  2. The deployment of any of the above components must not have dependencies on any commercial products.
  3. Any other open source technology can be used, where applicable.
  4. Participants must make use of software (either readymade or created by the participant), to produce a workable solution. The usage of open source software should be clearly stated in the documentation.
  5. Any APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) used must be non-proprietary and not belong to any commercial product.

INTERNATIONAL BICYCLE DESIGN COMPETITION 2014


Description:
The International Bicycle Design Competition, the IBDC 2014, will take place for the 18th time. Students in all types of study programs in the field of design are welcome to take part. The competition is calling for innovative, visionary concepts that make cycling even more comfortable, safer, more challenging, more enjoyable or simply more popular. New manufacturing processes and materials or thought-provoking impulses for urban planners are also welcome. Taking part in this competition is free of charge. EUR 21,500 in prize monies will be distributed among the most outstanding entries.

Eligibility:
Students of all design related courses and programs (for example, product, fashion and communication design, architecture, marketing and engineering) who are interested in design of bicycle and relevant service are welcome to register their entries for the IBDC. Projects should show their degree of innovation and design quality in a certain level. In addition to projects by individual designers, we also accept works by groups of designers with no more than 4 team members / team.

ASEANpreneurs Autodesk Design Challenge

The ASEANpreneurs Autodesk Design Challenge is an inaugural design challenge organized by ASEANpreneurs and sponsored by Autodesk to provide students the platform to design the next big thing! With the use of Autodesk design software,competing students can design anything from a futuristic product in the Manufacturing category, a dream villa in the Architecture category to simply any creative designs that you can think of under the Sketchbook and 123D Design category. 2013 International Robot PRIDE Competition (PRIDE2013)

Description:
Center for Humanoid Robots and Bio-Sensing (HuRoBs), UiTM, in collaboration with IEEE-RAS Malaysia Chapter and Malaysia Robotics and Automation Interest Group (MyRAig) are proud to announce the second International Robot PRIDE Competition 2013 (PRIDE2013). This year event will be organize in Shah Alam, Malaysia from 2nd to 4th December 2013. The objective of PRIDE is to explore and exhibit innovative ideas and design within the scope of Robotics, Sensors, Automation, Computation and Intelligent Systems. The competition focus on fundamental and application using creative engineering and computer technology towards potential exploration as commercial products. Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2014

Innovate Malaysia Design Competition is a multi-discipline engineering design competition open to all final year undergraduate engineering or computer science students in Malaysia. The goal of the contest is to promote innovation culture and mindsets among university graduates, to enhance knowledge and skill set in practical engineering and promote greater interest in engineering design, and to promote more industry and university collaboration. Agilent, Altera, Intel, MathWorks, National Instruments, and Silterra as the leaders in electronic instrument, programmable logic, microprocessor, numerical computing, control automation, and IC fabrication respectively, creates an environment of learning through innovation and positive competition by holding a multi-discipline engineering design contest.
