SME’s Innovate (Doing Well by Doing Good)

Description:
The SME’s Innovate (Doing Well by Doing Good) is the national competition for the Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises’ entrepreneurs/companies. It is designed to elicit ideas, create innovative designs and products that are low-cost, affordable, acceptable, accessible and sustainable, and which can then be exploited and commercialised for the benefits of the grassroots such as under-privileged women, youths, disabled and the poor identified as Bottom of Pyramid (BoP). The competition is based on open innovation concept and applicants can choose from a plethora of projects/products covering technological innovation; business process innovation; workflow innovation; delivery system innovation; research process innovation and grassroots innovation.
The SME’s Innovate (Doing Well by Doing Good), which is part of the National Inclusive Innovation Programme 2013, is organised by Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

-SME Companies registered with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (Limited Liability Partnership/ Sdn Bhd/Enterprise);

-Company must be majority-owned by Malaysian;
-An active company;
-Not an insolvent company

Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2013


Description:
Each year, ILAM presented the outstanding Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards to Malaysian landscape architecture practices and related fields. The awards are open to all project submissions,  which have not won any previous ILAM MLAA Awards.
The award recipients receive featured coverage in ILAM’s Bulletin Landskap and a special publication in conjunction with the award - Landscape Architecture Malaysia Yearbook and a Special Edition in the local press following the award ceremony. Award recipients will be honoured at the Awards Presentation Ceremony during ILAM’s Annual Dinner, scheduled in April each year. The Awards are also part of the activities held in conjunction with the World Landscape Architecture Month Celebrations.

Eligibility:
1. Landscape Consultant Categories
The official entrant must be submitted by the member of ILAM (Except Student Member) from the consultancy firm which was involved in the submitted project.
* Projects are not limited to Malaysia. Project completed outside Malaysia may be submitted by ILAM Members or ILAM registered consultancy firms.​
2. Landscape Contractor Category
The official entrant must be from landscape contractors or builders.
3. Property Developer Category &
4. City Council & Local Government Category
The official entry may be submitted by a member of ILAM (Except Student Member) from the submitting organisation.
* For Property Developer Category, projects are not limited to Malaysia. Projects completed outside Malaysia which are built by the submitting developer are eligible.​
5. Researcher Category
The official entrant can be from academicians, researchers and practisioners from higher learning institution, government sectors, local governments, private practisioners such as landscape consultants or individual landscape architect.
6. Student Category
The official entrant must be from student of local university or higher learning institution.

Bristol Student Design Competition 2013

Description:
Bristol would like to share its expertise in the office furniture manufacturing industry by organizing a student design competition to provide an opportunity for students studying in institutions and universities in Malaysia to showcase their talent in the design field.
Two categories are open for this competition:- furniture design & interior design.
In collaboration with the Malaysian Design Council (Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia, MRM), our panel of judges for this competition consists of industry experts from the furniture and interior design industry in Malaysia.
All entries will be judged and only selected entries will be eligible for final presentation. All finalists are required to present their designs in front of a panel of judges and winners of this competition will be announced at the end of the year.
Theme
“The Experience” of form and functionality.
An ingenious design should be a balance of form and functionality, blending aesthetics with science and engineering whilst providing a superior user experience.

The Tetra Pak Eco Design - Design for Good

Description:
An eco design competition to ignite and accelerate design-driven environmental and social change.
Last year, we identified good designs.
This year we’re seeking not just good designs but designs that do good for the planet and people in need.
The DESIGN FOR GOOD Eco Design Competition 2013 challenges designers to use their creative influence in creating upcycled products made from used beverage cartons that is commercially viable and functional. The winning design is then donated to our selected beneficiary, Beautiful Gate Foundation For The Disabled, for commercialisation as an alternative fundraising tool.
Your design could be the one that not only helps keep waste out of landfills, but also empower the disabled towards economic independence.

MyTRIZ Competition 2013

Description:
Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association in partnership with Intel Corporation and Multimedia Development Corporation is very pleased to announce its 2nd MyTRIZ Competition 2013.
The competition objective is to encourage the application of TRIZ systematic innovation methodology, cultivate the spirit of innovation and generate awareness of TRIZ systematic innovation around the region.

Freescale Cup 2013



Description:
Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Freescale) are organizing Freescale Cup Intelligent Car Competition 2013. The Freescale Cup is a global competition where student teams build, program, and race a model car around a track for speed.
Each universities/colleges may have up to 3 racing teams. Freescale will sponsor the car kit for the 1st team from each universities, subject to the approval from the Organizing Committee.  Penalty may be imposed if the team failed to participate in the competition after receiving the car kit.  For the 2nd and 3rd team, registration fee will be RM500 per team.  Registration deadline is 31 May 2013.
